NOTICE OF INTENDED MARRIAGE: (NOIM) 

This is the first step.

The NOIM must be signed ONE calendar month prior to the wedding.

You will both need to provide your original copy of your birth certificates.

If you have been married before, you will need to provide proof of your divorce (decree absolute) or the certificate of death of your spouse.

The NOIM is valid for 18 months from the day it is signed and witnessed by your celebrant.

 *All certificates must be the original copy*

DECLARATION OF NO LEGAL IMPEDIMENT TO MARRIAGE: 

This must be signed and witnessed by your celebrant in the week leading up to the wedding. 

You must both sign this declaration, stating that there is no legal reason that either of you are aware of the  to your marriage shouldnt take place.

ON THE WEDDING DAY

You must each have a witness that is over the age of 18.

You and your witnesses will be required to sign 3 documents 

The Marriage Registry

Official Certificate of Marriage,

And the Bridal Certificate.

WITNESSES

You are required to have two witnesses.

The only requirement is that they are over the age of 18 years

AFTER THE SERVICE

I can apply on your behalf for your Official Marriage Certificate at the time of registering your Marriage

At an additional cost to you.

You will need the Official Certificate of Marriage to change your name on any formal legal documents (i.e. drivers licence/ passport)
